Depression is a persistent feeling of sadness, loneliness, grief, uselessness, and emotional pain. If not treated at the right time, it can lead to a person turning suicidal, and may try to harm himself/herself. Depression is commonly experienced before, during, or after life transitions, such as divorce, the birth of a child, marriage, retirement, or graduation. While some of these life transitions are experienced as largely positive to many, it is not uncommon to also experiences feelings of sadness and loss associated with change.
I approach clients with depression through various routes at one time to make the treatment effective, and help patients recover from their disruptive mental state sooner. First of all, I listen, understand, and discuss the problems of the patient through verbal counselling sessions, and then I work with the client collaboratively to find solutions. Depression is treatable, and there are many effective treatments in my mental toolbox available.
